Stuck for present ideas? Let me help! I originally compiled this themed gift guide for my Friday Five newsletters in November and December 2025. But these aren’t just gifts for Christmas, they’d be happily received all year round. They’re all items or ideas I have personal experience of, so I’m able to recommend them. And, as with everything I suggest, they could all have a positive impact on your health and wellbeing. Happy shopping!
BEST BUYS FOR BOOKWORMS:
- The Untethered Soul: The Journey Beyond Yourself by Michael A Singer. This special book has retained its wisdom for nearly two decades now. A powerful read for anyone intrigued by spirituality, consciousness and true personal growth.
- Silence in the Age of Noise by Erling Kagge. A meditation in reading form, this is a stunning account of why silence matters – and where to find it. Erling is another former podcast guest who once walked solo to the South Pole.
- The Ageless Brain by Dr Dale Bredesen. A brilliant practical guide from one of the world’s leading brain experts, outlining the simple steps we can take to protect our brains and minds throughout our lives.
- The Three Question Journal, which I created in partnership with Intelligent Change to help people commit and stick to a daily practice. So many people have told me they were gifted this book and have found it life changing. It’s ideal for anyone keen to start and stick to a journalling practice.
- Order a gift token from an independent book shop near your loved one’s home or work. You’ll be giving the gift of choice while supporting a local small business. (You can also do this online by ordering via: uk.bookshop.org)
RECOMMENDATIONS FOR FOODIES:
- All coffee fans should know about Exhale coffee. It doesn’t just taste great, it’s super-high in antioxidant polyphenols to boost your gut bugs – without giving you caffeine jitters. Buy it by the bag or treat someone to a subscription (here’s a link with a discount). My favourite? The organic decaf.
- People who love cooking, love a good-quality oil. I’m really taken with this range from Good Phats, which includes extra virgin olive oils, avocado oil, coconut MCT oil, grass-fed ghee and beef tallow. Oils like these are a tasty way to support your metabolic health – and the bottles look great in your kitchen, too.
- I have managed to retrain my taste buds when it comes to sugar over the past few years but I do enjoy an occasional square of nut-butter dark chocolate (70% or more). My friend Dhru Purohit introduced me to the brand Hu Kitchen in the US a few years ago. All the bars are organic, fair trade, vegan, made with unrefined coconut sugar – and finally available in the UK.
- Level-up your loved ones’ storecupboards with a selection of jars from the Bold Bean Co. These healthy beans – including chickpeas, butterbeans, cannellini and more – are bigger, better and tastier, with no artificial ingredients. They’re a fantastic way ways to add protein, fibre and flavour to meals.
- In the modern world – because of stress levels and the depletion of soil quality – even the most dedicated food prepper can benefit from a nutrient boost from time to time, especially at this time of year. I’m a huge fan of long-term podcast sponsor AG1. It’s a daily health drink with more than 70 essential nutrients, including vitamin C, vitamin A, zinc, and selenium – which can help support your immune system. Treat someone to the gift of health with AG1 and you’ll get a generous free gift as a Friday Five subscriber – find out more here.
GET-FIT GIFTS:
- Buying someone a doormat for Christmas might seem a little strange. But not if they’ve heard episode 434 of my podcast, with movement coach Helen Hall. Use a bristled mat to wipe your feet every day, as I demonstrate in this video, and your body will thank you. Here’s the mat I use each morning!
- I’m a huge advocate of minimalist footwear for fitness as well as everyday life. Vivobarefoot is the brand I wear and trust. The Primus Lite Knit are my current favourites for walking around town and going to the shops and the Tracker Forest boots are my go-to for hiking and outdoor adventures. But there’s something for everyone in the range. Vivobarefoot has sponsored my podcast for years and it’s giving you an incredible 15% off your first order. To take advantage follow this link.
- When I’m out and about, I love Yeti flasks for staying hydrated. The stainless steel Rambler Bottle is really robust and the insulation is fantastic, while the Travel Bottle is great for hot drinks on the go. Yeti products are sustainable, built to last and make great gifts.
- Buying from the parkrun shop helps keep parkrun – the global, Saturday morning 5km events – free, for everyone, forever. And there’s a huge range to choose from, including parkrun-branded running kit, accessories, milestone clothing and barcode tags and wristbands.
- I keep a kettlebell in my kitchen, to prompt me to do quick, easy workouts. It’s such a great piece of equipment to have around, more versatile than dumbbells as you can target multiple muscles with each move. This range is neoprene-coated so it won’t mark floors. I’d start with an 8kg.
GIFTS FOR YOUR LOVED ONES:
- Back in September I welcomed pioneering neuro-optometrist Dr Bryce Appelbaum onto the podcast. He invited me to visit his clinic for five days of vision training. As well as huge improvements in my vision (which is a function of the brain), my eyesight improved significantly as well! Bryce is still offering Friday Five subscribers an incredible $200 off ScreenFit, his revolutionary online vision training programme designed to improve your vision in 15 minutes a day. I think it would make an amazing gift for a loved one. Head to: screenfit.com/livemore to find out more.
- I’m a big believer in red light therapy to revitalise the body, enhance skin appearance and promote overall wellbeing. And one of my podcast’s trusted sponsors, Bon Charge, are the best in the business when it comes to this technology. I have the Bon Charge Demi Light and it’s fast become a favourite part of my wellness routine. I sit in front of my light to recover after exercise, and I also find it helps me sleep well. If you’d like to treat someone, Bon Charge have an incredible 25% off all products on until the end of the year!
- A standing desk would make a thoughtful gift for a homeworker who experiences back pain, or who simply wants to improve their energy levels, focus and spinal alignment. There are many models on the market, some manual, some electric, some that sit on top of your regular desk. Ikea has some of the most affordable versions I’ve seen, like this one. The key is not to stand (and slouch) all the time, but to alternate between standing and sitting, so you bring more movement into your day.
- There’s increasing evidence on the negative health effects of some non-stick coatings for cookware, so using non-toxic pots and pans is really important for my family. For us, you can’t go wrong with cast iron. The Le Creuset range comes in a range of bright colours and makes a fab gift for anyone who loves cooking. This classic frying pan is an investment – but they’ll have it for a lifetime.
- I am a huge fan of my Muvman active sitting stool and think it would be a generous gift for anyone who has to sit for long periods of time. I use it for my podcast recordings, when I’m writing, and at my kitchen worktop. It’s fully adjustable for sitting or perching and gently tilts to allow you to move around. As someone who’s had back issues in the past, I find it absolutely phenomenal – even if you’re feeling a bit stiff when you sit down, the range of movement it gives you helps you to feel better.
