Recipe: Speedy Apple Cinnamon Breakfast Bowl

I love this recipe because of it’s simplicity.

It is a delicious really quick breakfast, which can be adapted to suit your own tastes and what you have in the house! Not only does the cinnamon add a lovely depth of flavour, it also helps to control blood sugar.

Basic ingredients (per bowl)

  • 1 apple
  • 4-5 heaped tablespoons of coconut yoghurt (or greek yoghurt)
  • handful of nuts
  • handful of berries
  • ground cinnamon to taste

These are ingredients that I also add in, depending on how I feel and what I have in the house:

  • bananas
  • coconut chips
  • goji berries
  • cocoa nibs
  • ground flaxseeds
  • hemp seeds
  • chia seeds


  1. Grate the apple and put the grated apple into a bowl.
  2. Add the coconut yoghurt, berries (I like blueberries because they add a delicious burst of flavour and anti-oxidants), nuts (my favourite are pecans) and cinnamon to the apple and stir.
  3. You can add in any of the above ingredients and any others that you like. Coconut chips and cocoa nibs add a lovely texture.
  4. Enjoy!
