Hip Adduction – Wake up your sleepy glutes

by Dr Rangan Chatterjee   /  December 21, 2017

MOVMENT 2 – HIP ADDUCTION

This is the second movement in a series of 4 movements that are detailed in the ‘Wake up your sleepy glutes’ section in my bestselling book, The Four Pillar Plan.

Like the previous movement, this one is designed to give your glute NO OPTION but to contract. This movement, like the first one, uses a step. This time lowering one of your legs to toe touch the floor pushes the pelvis up on the standing leg, which stretches the glute on that side. The reaching up of the opposite arm synchronises the movement with the spine and the pelvis to get even more muscles involved and a bigger experience for your brain.

This is a whole body movement which targets the glutes as well as many other muscles which contribute to your extensor chain.

Once you have given this movement a try, please let me know on social media how you have got on using the hashtag #the4pillarplan and #sleepyglutes

The next movement in this series, Foot Clocks, will help you wake up your feet which, in turn, will help awaken your glutes.
